Job Summary:
The job holder is primarily responsible for devising and installing a range of technical solutions for events, including pre-production in the provision of schematics, kit listing and technical quotations, the prepping and picking of correct equipment in the warehouse, transporting equipment to site, and managing the install and derig at a range of indoor and outdoor venues. The production engineer role is an ideal development step for a career as a Technical Project Manager/Production Manager.
Main Duties:
- Devise and advise on technical solutions for events.
- Provide PMs and AMs with schematics, kit-listing and technical quotations as required • Complete risk assessments and method statements as required for H&S compliance on each job • Manage technical aspects of each job on site including hands on installation across a variety of
disciplines at a range of indoor and outdoor venues and manage the derigs effectively • Transport kit to/from site in company vehicles including loading/unloading of flight cases • Present a professional image and face of Visions with clients, venue staff and other suppliers • Support warehouse team as needed to select and prepare the correct equipment for each
technical kit list, scan equipment and ensure flight cases are packed safely and effectively • Ensure all equipment is returned to base safely, separating out any equipment needing repair • Adhere to H&S requirements at all times in the warehouse and on site
- Ensure all pre-production technical documentation and administrative processes are completed effectively
- Respond to last minute equipment requests from Project Managers/Engineers on site ensuring requests are actioned promptly and effectively
- Support Technical Services Manager in ongoing maintenance of equipment including (but not limited to) lighting, rigging, cabling, audio, video and power equipment
Job Holder Requirements:
Experience
- Experience in warehouse and on site work within the live events industry • Experience working with technical aspects of lighting, sound and/or video equipment

- Full clean UK Driving licence essential to enable driving of company vehicles to/from site
Additional requirements
- The role is physically demanding and requires the ability to work at height/lift heavy items • The job holder is required to have a full UK driving licence for driving company vehicles to/from site (any endorsements to be acceptable to the company’s insurer)
- The job holder needs to pass stringent security requirements for various venues (DBS) • The job holder will be based at Maxx House, Bracknell, with regular travel to on site venues. • Due to operational requirements the job holder is expected to work flexibly according to workload, with some evening and weekend coverage required
